As a nonbinary woman, I fearlessly challenge societal norms and assumptions, particularly those surrounding gender conformity and the expectations placed upon black woman. As I reflect upon my interests and passions, one field that consistently captivates my attention is public relations. Through my personal and academic experiences, I have discovered my unwavering passion for public relations as a fulfilling and impactful career path.
From an early age, I was drawn to effective communication and its power to shape perceptions. Whether it was through writing persuasive essays or engaging in debates, I found joy in conveying my thoughts and influencing others. During my academic journey, I pursued a degree in communications, eager to explore the intricacies of public relations. The coursework exposed me to the strategic aspects of the profession. Beyond the classroom, I sought opportunities to apply my knowledge and refine my skills. I actively participated in an internship with Pillsbury United Communities in Minneapolis. In which I gained hands-on experience in journalism, graphic design, and executing strategic multimedia communication campaigns.
